VISION

The film unfolds as “quirky slow”. The scenes are framed in static, one-angled shots, but are stitched together with a quirky/fast pace to create a kinetic rhythm, making use of interesting visual elements (weird actions on screen, intense production design), and abrupt/smash cuts to maintain the audience’s attention and keep them alert.

The fantastical elements inhabit the everyday. The film’s magical realism permeates the world subtly: characters encounter the supernatural as if it were part of their ordinary lives.

The film’s visual treatment is a gradient from grays to greens.

The city, the tenements, the UV, and Adong’s unit are deliberately designed to feel oppressive. Production design emphasizes cramped, angular spaces, peeling walls, and cluttered interiors. Shadows choke corners, and the palette is bleak and desaturated.

In the natural world, the palette shifts dramatically. The vegetation is vibrant, with greens illuminated by soft afternoon light.
